Just-Jean-Étienne Roy, born in Beaumotte-lès-Pin (Haute-Saône) on October 14, 1794, died in Paris (7th arrondissement) on June 22, 1871, is a French writer. He wrote, under many pseudonyms, about 200 works, mainly for religious publishers (Mame in Tours, but also Ardant in Limoges and Lefort in Lille). Secretary to the French consul in Rio de Janeiro, he lived in Brazil from 1835 to 1845.
