Auke Herrema (Delft 1956) made his debut with Magic Strip: "The Established Disorder", a collection of short stories, influenced by that other master of the Dutch clear line, Joost Swarte. In "A Small Transformation" he expresses his passion for the architectural weirdness of the thirties, which he links to the disturbances of the ligne claire.
