More than 600 plants of the Mediterranean basin are presented here and illustrated with a colour photograph. Most of the book is devoted to indigenous wild species, to which have been added species that have been introduced for centuries and are now part of the landscape. Their botanical and ecological characteristics are described in detail, as well as their traditional and medicinal uses where appropriate. In addition to the presentation of wild species, two chapters have been added devoted to fruits and vegetables and to condiment and medicinal plants originating from the Mediterranean basin or traditionally cultivated in this region.
