Barbara B. Brown (1921-1999) était Psychologue d’orientation scientifique, elle a popularisé le Biofeedback et le Neurofeedback dans les années 1970. Elle a été le co-fondateur et le premier président (1969-1970) de la Biofeedback Research Society, qui a évolué vers la Biofeedback Society of America puis en AAPB. Au sein de cette organisation, Brown et ses collègues ont contribué à faire progresser et à légitimer l'étude du Biofeedback et du Neurofeedback.Le Dr Brown a créé et popularisé le mot « Biofeedback ». Elle a mené sa recherche révolutionnaire quand elle était chef de la recherche en physiologie expérientielle à l'Hôpital de l'administration des anciens combattants à Sepulveda, en Californie.
Barbara B. Brown (1921–1999) was a research psychologist who popularized biofeedback and neurofeedback in the 1970s. Biofeedback Magazine, a publication of the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB), noted that she was "among the first and most successful to make the public aware of the power and potential of biofeedback." Brown was co-founder and the first president (1969-1970) of the Biofeedback Research Society, which evolved into the Biofeedback Society of America and then into AAPB. From within that organization, Brown and her colleagues helped to advance and legitimize the study of biofeedback and neurofeedback.
