Since Freud's analysis of President Schreber's Memoirs in his reflection on paranoia, this prominent delusional has become one of the most famous and also most cited cases in the history of psychoanalysis. But for all the discussion of this case and Freud's text, one point has remained unresolved, especially with regard to its significance within his illness. This is the seductive nature of Schreber's relationship with his God. This book proposes a reflection on paranoia in which this relationship is taken as a prototype of the kind of sexuality at stake in the determination of this psychopathological framework. In order to carry out this reflection, the author relies on the Theory of Generalized Seduction, developed by Jean Laplanche, while trying to widen its scope, by adding the contribution of other authors, in order to increase its explanatory power in the field of psychoses. Thus, he proposes to incorporate into this reflection the developments brought, among others, by authors who have been sensitive to the role of double-entraves in the determination of psychoses.
