Bolossy Kiralfy (1848-1932), one of the Kiralfy brothers, was a performer, producer, writer and creator of musical extravaganzas in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was a "great international showman" and ushered in the "Age of the Spectacle". Bolossy Kiralfy, born 31 January 1847 in Pest, Hungary and died 6 March 1932 in London, England.
Jean de Paleologu or de Paleologue, born 1855 and died 1942, was a Romanian painter, illustrator and poster artist who often used Pal or PAL as his signature or studio mark. Born in Bucharest, he studied art in Paris and London, then returned to Romania where he attended a military academy. He then spent several periods in London before moving to Paris to practice in France. He moved to the United States in 1900. He illustrated Petits poèmes russes by Catulle Mendès, a collection published by Charpentier in 1893. In Paris and in the United States, he produced a large number of posters, notably advertising for cycling, and also participated in the JOB collection. He contributed to many periodicals, such as Le Rire, La Plume, Cocorico, Le Frou-frou, Sans-Gêne, Vie en Rose, Vanity Fair, The Strand Magazine and the New York Herald Tribune. He also painted some portraits of actors and music-hall performers. Paleologu died in Miami Beach.
