Beautiful map of Egypt with a magnificent title cartouche.Very detailed engraved map, relief represented by hachures, title cartouche in lower left corner (sphinx holding title stone, obelisk with hieroglyph at bottom, palm tree, columns and pyramidal edifice in background).
This map shows every detail, from towns to monasteries, with a particular focus on the Nile and the surrounding regions. A fascinating aspect of this map is the way it shows Lake Moeris, which is now just a very small lake. It also shows the famous 'labyrinth', which has been mentioned by many authors before, including Herodotus, Strabo, Diodorus and Pliny.
