31 March 1918. Paris is bombed by a German long-range gun located north of the capital. A bomb falls on the square of the temple where 8 people are. Only one will die. Gaston Beauchamp, a young soldier in the French army, Hélène the teacher, Féraud the printer, General des Rozières, the commissioner Michel Crespin, the journalist Philippe Loisel, the deputy de la Vigne and his young brother Étienne, an actor by trade, will be the playthings of fate for 24 hours. The interplay of these eight characters will lead the reader to wonder if it is indeed a German bomb that is responsible for this death...
By taking as his setting a historical fact that occurred at the end of the First World War, Laurent-Frédéric Bollée has conceived this diptych as "a human comedy". With this first album, he thus lays down the elements of a diabolical mechanism served by the staging and the rhythmic - almost cinematographic - drawing of Fabien Bedouel.
