Condition : good, slightly stained and browned at the margins with faint traces of folding, small tears at the top and bottom centre of the margins (for 1 cm at the bottom of the map), small lack at the upper right corner of the margin, minimal trace of moisture at the upper margin, faint traces of old vertical folds at the centre, a small stain on the map.

Hand-coloured with a title cartouche in the shape of a warship's sail, with 1 coat of arms, cannons, an anchor and a fillet, with a strong print and wide margins.

Janvier was a French geographer active in the second half of the 18th century. According to Norwich and Tooley, Janvier produced a series of maps in 1760, and collaborated on a Modern Atlas in 1762 and 1771.
