    Beautiful detailed map of the Kingdom of Bohemia.

    Showing the Kingdom of Bohemia with the surrounding regions of Bavaria, Saxony, Austria and Silesia, indicating numerous names of towns, villages, castles, rivers, lakes, mountains, etc. With a decorative cartouche with the Bohemian coat of arms and a table of explanations.

    Johann Christoph Mueller (1673 - 1721) was the most important Austrian cartographer of the 18th century. He used various methods, from astronomy to trigonometry to direction measurement. By 1720, 25 sheets of his map of Bohemia were published. A total of 11,000 places are recorded, as well as hill drawings for the relief representation. This map, engraved in Augsburg in 1720-22, is the last fundamental map produced by one person.
