Although this novel was published by Hachette in 1919, fourteen years after the death of Jules Verne, who had written only the beginning (the end being the work of his son), it is the rule, since the works of Gondolo della Riva, to describe it as a continuation of the novels published by Hetzel, in spite of a binding "with a fan and an elephant" which reminds us of the ones published from 1905 to 1914".
